Spearhead militaria Splinter-B typeIII jumpsmock

Postby Fallschirmjäger on Tue Jun 16, 2009 5:38 pm

I finally got around to getting some photos of my smock.

Spearhead is the evil company At the Front reffers to by "ebay dealer with incorrect $79 jumpsmocks". Well, that assumption is correct, and incorrect.

There are a few errors (like the lower pockets are a bit short). But, the Splinter B pattern by Spearhead is more accurate than At the Front's version (the splinters don't go through the brown blocks on ATF's).

Thats really nice.
I'm thinking about buying a fj jacket for when i do photoshoots. The weather in the countryside is unpredictable at the best of times so think it would come in useful.
Though for my needs i think an LW field division jacket would be better suited

I'd say, go with FJ. I only know of three or four companies that make Felddivision smocks, and they are all more expensive than barries stuff

ATF: http://atthefront.com/g_uni_luft.htm ($125)

Zeugmeisterei: http://www.zeugmeisterei.com/cms/en/ind ... 7a48311aa6 (169€)

GMAX Http://gmaxtailoring.com (about $200 to $400 depenging on size)

Richard A Underwood: http://www.richardaunderwood.com/cgi-bi ... 7&uid=4199 .£65

Let me know what you think of the one on here

http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/reenactors/index.asp

The only problem i have with importing one from the states is that if the customs people grab it when its coming in then i'll have to pay 13.5% tax on it. Luckily when buying 1/6th bits i've managed to dodge the bullet so far :D

I don't like the camo...maybe it's the smaller photo than I'm used to, but it looks like Heer or post war splinter.

It would be best to go with spearhead...their stuff is the best for the price, and the camo pattern is rather accurate. Good luck finding a real one though...they cost about $2500 and up

Hi Pietje,
I heard the fabric on his FD smocks is slightly thicker than on his old FJ smocks (Like mine). Somebidy in my unit said they plan on ordering one. When they get it, I will get some photos for reference. They look very good.

Pietje,
I think you were on the PGN forum talking about green based FD jackets.

I saw this on the Collectors guild...it sure would be nice to have a rare tan based FD jacket, ja?
